(Since she has been made aware of her prior stay, Padmé decides to use her tablet to send out a message. She is pale, but strangely resolved to this new plight. Her hair is ornately braided, but her clothing is plain. She's just happy to have clothes and to be rid of that white gown!)

Greetings, everyone. Some of you might recognize me; I want to speak to you if that is the case.

(The faster she is up to speed, the better.)

For those I am encountering for the first time, hello. I'm Padmé. Some of my family is present and -

I suppose there is a reason for it. I just can't see it. The future feels so grim.

(Good! Padmé wraps him in her arms immediately, kissing his cheek. It is absolutely their problem! They have far, far too much time to make up for and she isn't sorry that she finds her son adorable. It's like all of the good in Anakin and her combined in him. He's sunshine.)

Probably. I hate that I keep...doing that to him. (She had always meant to be strong, unbreakable. Fierce in love. Instead she had crumbled.)

That is refreshing. (Actually! Strangely? She is surprised into a small laugh.)

(Is this...? Leia's son. Padmé watches him intently, hungrily, wishing she could just pull him into her arms and not let go. Sorry, Kylo, you are loved. She doesn't need to know anything other than he exists to have that love for him.)

I've heard about you, Kylo. She did. (A soft smile welcomes him, entreats him to listen.) I'm not angry at you. I'm not angry at Anakin either.

[Codi interprets that insistence as polite humility - probably what Padmé is hoping she'll do, except that she expects people in political power to enjoy having their egos fluffed, so she's not going to let it go.]

Fair enough - I didn't want to assume that we'd be back on a first-name basis. [She shrugs, her posture becoming a little more casual as she leans further into the bench.] Titles are important, Padmé. You should hold onto yours, even if you're in a new place. People respect that kind of experience here.

[More importantly, they recognize authority. But Padmé didn't strike her as the domineering type when they first spoke, so Codi opts for a gentler tone this time around.]

There has only been one intentional venture into the Troop for foraging, at least in the time I've been here. So far as I can tell there's nothing to be gained from going there otherwise. They seem to prefer to be left alone. Strange as that sounds, I believe they have some degree of sentience.

[That's not the reaction he's expecting, especially since Rey had said she'd only mentioned that he existed and nothing else.]

Any title I had has come to an end. I am only Padmé now. (Wife and Mother. Those are the best titles anyway.) I will keep that in mind. If anyone asks, I will share my experience.

Is it safe to leave them to their own devices? What are they planning? For themselves? For us?

The light that has always existed for me, for others, hasn't died. The clouds are just hiding it. Even so, I hate to see those I love suffer, to grow up on different planets, to not even know each other.

Padmé Skywalker. (She...can finally say it.) I'm not sure what those first two mean, but I would like to learn.

(She had also said he had a connection with Anakin. That...says a lot.)

I do not know that they are planning anything. At the moment if they are considered alongside current political temperatures then they are at the moment neutral.

The Sylphid remain our largest concern, being the ones whom have come up with a magitechnology that can span past dimension and time to draw more victims for their own prosperity.

Third one must be old hat, huh? [He's like this. Don't mind him.] I should warn you that if you ask me about either, you're getting into one hell of a deep explanation that crosses the lines of philosophy, ontology, spirituality, and asskickery. Usually when I start off, I say 'everything is martial arts' and that's when people roll their eyes at me and tune out. Fondly, sometimes, to be fair!

And I respect your decision.

[Codi puts her hands up in a quick, "what can you do" sort of expression. Topic dropped, but certainly not forgotten.]

So - what would you like to hear from me? I'm not sure what sorts of blanks you need me to fill in.

[Definitely better than any Senator she'd ever met.]

We are of like mind in that much, at least.

I have heard that we need to be tethered. Have you experienced that state? What is it like?

(She is hesitant to bond with anyone on that level (for their sake), but she also doesn't like seeing people suffer needlessly.)

I think it best to watch both races. Opponents can come from unexpected places. (A lesson she has had to learn the hard way.) Of course I am willing to help anyone who finds themselves in our number. We can only depend on each other.

(She tries. Unlike others, Padmé doesn't believe in or participate in underhanded dealings.)

Then all we can do is our best. I hope we can catch a glimpse of a brighter future.
