(Since she has been made aware of her prior stay, Padmé decides to use her tablet to send out a message. She is pale, but strangely resolved to this new plight. Her hair is ornately braided, but her clothing is plain. She's just happy to have clothes and to be rid of that white gown!)

Greetings, everyone. Some of you might recognize me; I want to speak to you if that is the case.

(The faster she is up to speed, the better.)

For those I am encountering for the first time, hello. I'm Padmé. Some of my family is present and -

[Codi already pays close attention to any network traffic, but the sight of a familiar face that she hasn't seen in several months garners particular interest from her. She didn't get the chance to pry too much from the other Padmé that was here before, other than the details of her government and her place in it; having the opportunity to flex that familiarity, however, in order to garner some trust and access to more juicy, personal information? That's simply something Codi cannot pass up.]

[She leaves the café where she had originally been checking her phone and plops herself down on a quiet bench. The gentle murmur of distant passerby masks her voice from eavesdroppers, and the neutral backdrop of the forest makes it difficult to place where she's filming herself from. Her appearance is, as always, immaculate; not a single ginger hair is out of place and her black working blouse is ironed in preparation for her shift at Cyborg in a couple of hours.]

[First question: The last time Codi recognized someone that had been missing for a nontrivial amount of time, they didn't recognize her back. But they also didn't remember ever being here, and Codi can't be sure that Padmé is in that same boat.]

[Could she address that directly? Sure. She isn't going to, though - much more interesting to see how she handles herself with as little context as possible.]

I'm also particularly invested in protecting your family. Have you spoken to all of them yet? Your grandson is here; I imagine he'd welcome the chance to speak with you.

[It's surprising to see her again, and with all the things he's since learned from Vader, well, there's potentially a lot to process. He boxes it up and sets it aside for now.]

My name is Tech. I'm part of a squad known as Clone Force Ninety-Nine, although I am the only one of my team present here.

(She had, hadn't she. Padmé takes in the other woman's appearance with a small smile. Sadness lingers in her eyes as if a great burden lies on her heart. No, her soul.)

I'm sorry I don't remember you. (She firmly believes that friendships can be restored, however.) If you helped me before, I am grateful. I was wondering if you could tell me more about that time.

Yes, I remember. Thank you again for opening the door.

Hello, Tech. I'm sure your abilities are welcome here. (And useful!) Did we speak before?

Leia's son, Kylo, is here. He'll probably come looking for you eventually, but things are... complicated, with him. I guess you're probably used to complicated.

Leia was here herself a while back, but she went home again. I got to know her back home, though, over the past year, so if you'd like to know anything about her that the others can't or won't tell you, I'll do my best.

I've definitely been able to keep myself busy.

Is it too much to ask you to tell me everything about her?

No doubt. Can you tell me more about being Tethered? I take it we can choose the person we...ah...tether with? (Is that the correct lingo?)

Of course. It can be seen as an inconvenience, and I'm still not quite sure as to how such alignments are assigned to a person, but such Tethers are necessary. You are correct, Tether bonds are an agreement by both parties involved and never forced. I don't know that it will work very well if there was some disagreement to it.

Since we are given powers, I assume our minds and hearts need to be aligned for them to work properly. (And to sustain their lives/sanity.) We are basically mirroring the connection between the two planets - only on a much smaller level.

Yes, exactly. I have heard that those who do not find someone to balance them out begin to feel the adverse effects within the span of three months, and that their condition only worsens. At the same time I would not hurry a binding unless you're absolutely certain of some compatibility with someone.

You are also not limited to a single tether, however understandably, you would still have to keep things balanced to a degree. If I may ask, what planet are you aligned with?

Tian. (In the case of someone suffering the adverse effects, she can't help asking:) Could wishing to help someone recover from the bad effects be a good reason to bond? I know I will be tempted if I see someone suffering.

[He notes that, giving another nod.]

Hm. I think that would largely depend upon the other person. I do not think it would be wise to tether out of desperation, and I have heard that while tethers can be severed, it is not without consequence.

You must be mindful that such bonds open the both of you up to each other on a completely different level. Memories and experiences, emotions, these are things that the other may have to bear, and vice-versa.

Then I will be cautious. (She doesn't want to inflict her emotions on anyone else. That would be wholly unfair.) Thank you for the information. I will do my utmost to think with my head instead of my heart.

(Lest she complicate someone else's life.)

How are supplies? Do we have enough food and drink?

I'm glad to be able to offer it. I know you've always been someone who wants to make things better for others.

Supplies seem to be more than adequate here. The Witches Camp is rather well-established. They are generous in their provisions for those who are willing to join their cause. But we have conducted a few missions to deliver supplies to outlying camps and intercept shipments to Sylphid territories.

I want to keep doing so. (And in order to follow through on that desire, she needs the information he is providing.)

Good. I wouldn't wish starvation on anyone. (She has seen the effects of that too many times.) What about safety? Are there dangerous wildlife? I have heard about the Sylphid and the Troops.

I'll let him know you're here. He's become close to your husband while they've both been here.

[ The jury's still out on whether or not she thinks that's a good thing, but so far no one's died. ]

I'll tell you everything I can. I only got to know her during the past year, but she was already well-established as a hero and a leader by the time I joined her Resistance. Did you know the Organas? She was raised by them.

The local wildlife varies. The surrounding woods are rife with creatures both great and small, and while not all of them are dangerous, naturally it's the predators you need to be wary of. I've come across a large sort of feline with plate-like scales, and an even bigger bipedal reptilian type, although that one was in the deeper woods during a transport mission.

The Troop is not a direct threat so long as one does not venture into their midst. I do warn you, even wearing protection does not guarantee you from suffering the hallucinogenic effects of the spores. We've been tasked going there as well, for samples.

I think I can see the complication.

(Another Sith? She can't keep her eyes closed; she can't be afraid of that outcome.)

The Resistance is the force that opposes Palpatine, yes? I've known Bail Organa for years. He is a very good friend. I know he would be good to her.

Then I must find myself some kind of weapon. (She doesn't like killing, but if her hand is forced...)

That's why we should keep in contact as much as possible. We can help each other remember what is real and what isn't.

[ He's not on camera. But he's in the room. Ready to jump in if she needs him to. He's not fretting, really. Promise. ]

From before, I have your things. I gave some to Luke. There wasn't much, but your clothing and make-up I kept.

(She reaches for his hand and tries to soothe some of that fretting. ~~Though she is fretting too, so she is hardly one to talk.~~)

You can probably see some of it, though I would rather let Kylo tell you about himself first.

[ Though she cares for him, she's still speaking as someone who saw Kylo as an enemy first. That isn't how she wants Padmé to think of him before they've even met. ]

She stood against Palpatine's forces and those who followed after -- that's another thing Kylo can tell you more about. She was raised as a princess, and followed in your footsteps to become a senator during more peaceful years. You'd be proud of the person she is now.
