( Witch Cast (Debut) Œ ≈≈ Video Œ ≈≈ Post-Mission )
[The screen flickers on an a distinctive banner shows up, covering the screen. The screen then starts playing a young octoling beatboxing a upbeat jingle, which have been overlayed with the garbled singing. The entire thing has the appearance of a studio set, albeit one that was done by an amateur who didn't entirely know what they were doing.]
[Because they don't.]
[The banner is pulled away and a pair of eyes looks into the camera before pulling herself away. The camera droops a moment, prompting the girl with tentacle hair to rush over and straighten it back. Satisfied that it's all in position, she returns to the center of the camera. Her face flushes as she strikes a pose, extending her fingers out and down in a wiggling motion.]
H-Hello Witch's Camp! T-This is the first ever Witch Cast, w-where we can talk about ourselves a-and stuff going around the camp! "That's right! We're all in this together right?" [She chirps in the corner of her mouth.] ...cod, no. I shouldn't try to make up another voice to respond to, that's dumb...
[Oh, right, she was still filming this live. UM...] Anyways, I'm Eight! I'll be your TakoCaster for today!! A-A-And I was thinking maybe, we could talk about stuff like things we find interesting, places with good food, and whether there is something important on your mind.
[Er-HEM. Her face flushes bright magenta as she is continuing.] So... what's on my mind is that, if anything, we discovered in the last mission that the Sylphid are doing some pretty grisly things to people. And... even if we want to go home, it seems pretty obvious that us being here means that we can work on making sure the people we care about won't be taken away. I think that is important enough to be displaced for a little while. Not because we want to be, but because we're in a position to do something about it. [As she says that, the nerves bleeds away to genuine concern and she thinks about the ones back home that she wanted to keep safe. Yeah, this... this was important.]
[Her attention returns to the camera. Oops, that got a bit dark, huh? The bright cheery smile returns and she tries her best to pick up the energy again.] A-Anyways! Um! I thought it would be good to start with introductions! So, um, what you want to go by, and whether or not you have a skill you have that you'd want other people to know, and—OH! places!! Are there any places in camp you think people should know about??
As for me, I'm pretty good with guns and weapons! I can do weapon maintenance a-and... yeah that's pretty much it. Oh! And you should definitely check out the Xin Markets! It's where I picked up these clothes. [Indeed, she's sporting a rather cute black high neck with a white high waist pleated mini.]
So, that's it for me, Eight!
So for now that's all we know,
just stay upbeat and go with the flow!
[She does the pose one more time before rushing up to the camera and turning off the record.]
[Because they don't.]

Yeah! And it's not like it got a lot of coverage!
So far it has only been three people. So what help is it, really?
[She could justify it a bit more of people were taking it seriously, and there was more conversation between people. Maybe they were shy? Still, she doesn't see much point in putting herself out there if it wasn't an immediate success.]
[She was still young and hoping for that she'd see a great turnout, like her idols the Squid Sisters or Off the Hook!]
no subject
But that's ok!! You are learning and so is everyone else. You can't get discouraged and quit just because you're not immediately super successful. Did Off the Hook and the Squid Sisters start out huge without any background, funding, or platform? I doubt it!
no subject
Yeah! Though the Squid Sisters did start off by winning the first-annual Folk Singing Contest, which is what got their start in the music scene. And Off the Hook started off pretty small too, with Pearl getting her start as a death metal singer but her number one hit #$@%* Dudes Be #$@%* Sleepin, only had a small following.
[Um...]
So I might have to start small too! Even though Pearl started off having a lot of money and even had a Manta Maria for her 6th birthday, and all the equipment and
I think you're right!!
[About starting small. The bands she liked actually picked it off with exceedingly favorable conditions ahaha...]

I know I'm right! Speaking from experience, remember?
I think you're already seeing what has to happen next in order to really get your show off the ground, right?
You need sponsors. They can help you get the materials and staff you need to improve your production quality, plus hype and advertising!

[That came off as a little too much too quickly, where she wanted to try again and have a little bit of a better performance, she didn't think she was ready to be picked up by any sort of branding. Maybe in the future, but she was just getting started!!]
no subject
Sure! But only when you're ready. Just think about it, ok?
no subject
Okay.
I'll give it some thought.
[A lot of thought, and she is grateful that this was over text because she'd want to hide under something large and hollow.]
