so I need a job because my shopping addiction is waaaay beyond this stipend thingy

skills include gymnastics, psychiatry, kicking ass and taking names, finding lost things

I figure I could be a great mercenary or bounty hunter or hitwoman but IDK if those things are actual jobs you can get here

It's always something you could look into, at least, but I suppose I can see how that might lose its appeal after working...out of office? I wonder how difficult it would be to establish oneself as self-employed when still relatively new to this place.

I was thinking of looking into repairwork of some kind. I know my way around machinery at least.

oh yeah I've done SO MUCH STUFF that wasn't psychiatry and was way more interesting and fun, so I'd rather keep doing that

A mercenary company might find itself at odds with business depending on what's available. It seems that being involved with the rebels already blankets much of the potential missions.

Somewhat. When you're usually on isolated missions then you need to know how to patch your ship and whatever else you might come across.

You are the second person I've heard to use such a term. Are "superheroes" common where you are from?

It's not for everyone. I suppose I'm fortunate to enjoy tinkering when I can rather than see it as a chore.

Any examples? Although now that you mention it, I have wondered how such abilities work regarding those aligned to Heba. I at least have not experienced anything out of the ordinary yet.

What do you mean exactly? Some kind of concealment? What sort of weapons?

Well, you'll certainly be handy to have around if we ever find ourselves without firearms.

That sounds rather extreme. Definitely not any better than having a chip in your head "programming" you to follow orders.

people keep telling me that, and I gotta say I agree. I already kitted out some little guy with a spear and a hammer thing. it was funny because he showed me a picture and I pulled one out even though I never saw one like that before

usually I just drop em or put em back

[A minor oversight. Tech isn't too worried as he doubts there are many people just hanging out in the lobby looking like they're waiting for someone.

He doesn't take too much longer, arriving a little after Harley. Simply in long-sleeves, pants and a jacket besides, it probably would have been easy to overlook him in a crowd. He's tapping at his tablet even as he steps out into the lobby.]

[The guy who's tapping on a tablet seems like a likely candidate for a nerdy dude who wants to study someone's power, so Harley stands up straight and waves at him, grinning, then jogging over.]
