skills include gymnastics, psychiatry, kicking ass and taking names, finding lost things

I figure I could be a great mercenary or bounty hunter or hitwoman but IDK if those things are actual jobs you can get here

dog walker? bartender? I dunno!

I must confess that I'm in a similar position. It's a little difficult when all you've been is a soldier for most of your life.

It's always something you could look into, at least, but I suppose I can see how that might lose its appeal after working...out of office? I wonder how difficult it would be to establish oneself as self-employed when still relatively new to this place.

I was thinking of looking into repairwork of some kind. I know my way around machinery at least.

A mercenary company might find itself at odds with business depending on what's available. It seems that being involved with the rebels already blankets much of the potential missions.

Somewhat. When you're usually on isolated missions then you need to know how to patch your ship and whatever else you might come across.

Ok so hear me out:
Tethering ceremonies are a big deal, right? And you need magic to make them official.
Well, Tian-aligned people can learn how to do that stuff! I asked my instructors about it, and they said I could get there, but I'd need to take a lot more prerequisite classes first.
Until then, I was thinking, we could still build and maintain a venue? Some kind of scenic location that can be dressed up for whatever the Tethers want it to be.
We'd need a significant down payment to secure the place permanently, but I could maybe negotiate a loan to hold us over until we start getting regular customers. With all of us new folks needing Tethers, plus more on the way, probably, we should get a flood of business to cover opening costs.

What do you think? Too ambitious?

Let's just say I've met a few who have partaken in that, and it never ends up going well for them.

That more than a few have attempted to collect on my head, I might add, is a related issue for me, admittedly.
